Rought Cut of "Right Hand Hi'
I done a draft version with the whole video the same just with added narrative at the beginning of the video and the end, however it did not work out due to the quality of another camera i was using because i couldn't rent out the hard disc cam recorder as the renting days has expired and there wore no more available days to rent it out soon again.
The concept was that an ordinary girl was doing her homework and listening to music, as the next track comes on [Right Hand Hi by Kid Sister] she gets so inspired that she starts hallucinating that she is the artist of the songs and totally different compared to her original boring "geeky" ways. But the the song finished and she wakes up from her day dream and finds herself in the fabulous outfit she was in when she was daydreaming.
To get the shots of using the mac i recorded it using 'Screenflick, this program allows me to record anything i got on the mac. However there wore some issues that occurred throughout using this program, a lot of times some technical difficulties would occur to the program and the recordings would rapidly stop while playing back the clip, so i had to film it over and over again until it was right. Even thought a lot of time and work went into adding the narrative to the video i believe it looks so much better and professional without it, i also asked my teachers and they agreed with me so i took it out completely.

Questionnaire Results
1. For the first question mostly everyone answered that they have the same taste in music as their friends.
2. For the second answer most people answered that they do tend to try and look like their favourite band/artist, as they are the trend setters and the ones that inspire the fans to dress the same, weather its their talent that inspires them or their style.
3. For this question I found people answering the main two options, they mainly hear about the up coming new bands/artists either form word of mouth or the internet/TV. This was quite interesting its as it seems that the other options are not popular with the teenage audience at all.
4. This question mostly got answered for Funky House and Hip Hop. This seems as this is the most recent trends inspired from, it's most likely that this is the teenage most interesting genres.
5. Most people answered this that they mostly consume their music from iPod/MP3, Internet and some answered TV e.g. MTV, Channel aka...etc. This also show me clear interest of my targeted audience and whats popular in their trends.
6. On this question a lot of people agreed with both of the answers, as i asked them more about these questions they mainly said that they could not live without music, they would listen to it on their own for example while their on a bus but they mainly prefer listening to music with their friends and enjoying them especially in clubs or parties.
7. Most of the answers wore that they don't mind sharing their tastes with their friends as they are also interested in the same genres, some of the answers wore that they used to be scared because there was a certain genre as the top trend [Funky House & Hip Hop] and if certain people didn't follow the trend they would not fit in the group. However they said that now at their age everyone has grown out of this phase and a lot of friendship groups are mixed with different genre interests and styles, but they still believe that the younger groups are having to go through that stage.
8. Everyone mostly answered this that males are interested in mainly Funky House, Hip Hop, Rap and Grime, as these genres are harsh but portray the power of men more then women. When women are more interested in music that are not so against women power, however they still tend to be listening to the same genre as it is a trend in teenage life. This has shown to me that the hypocritical views of genre are approved as true even after so much years has gone by since this criticism all started, some trends from years back has still stayed in trend since now.

Audience Research
Reasoning for choosing this as my topic is that I thought that it would be interesting to research how males and females actually respond differently to a variety of music and music video's. This will help develop my understanding for my year 13 coursework, as it will increase my knowledge of background music for studying and constructing music video's
This topic is relevant at this point in time, as the music industry is growing larger and more powerful each day, with even more unsigned bands becoming more well known due to social networking sites promoting their music, such as Myspace. Therefore, the topic of weather or not males use music to consume a constructive identity to a larger extent than females do, is a topic of interest, as the results could tell us about weather or not music can actually mean more to males and females in terms of using it as a way to express themselves.
This topic is relevant at this point in time, as the music industry is growing larger and more powerful each day, with even more unsigned bands becoming more well known due to social networking sites promoting their music, such as Myspace. Therefore, the topic of weather or not males use music to consume a constructive identity to a larger extent than females do, is a topic of interest, as the results could tell us about weather or not music can actually mean more to males and females in terms of using it as a way to express themselves.
Audience Research - Different types of genres
Above is a photo showing different friendship classes people, which indicate that perhaps the way they dress are influenced by the type of genres and bands they listen to. Especially the groups that are usually classed as "goths" and "emo's." Typically, the type of music that these groups would be interested in is rock and metal music, for example artists such as Marylin Manson.
However, what’s interesting and more relevant is how they become interested in this type of music to begin with, and furthermore how it influences there dress sense. Speaking from personal experience from when I used to know friends who dressed in the same way is that they became interested in this genre of music first by being influenced by there friends as they too became gradually effected by thus type of music and began changing their appearance. As a result, my friends too began changing their fashion and started listening to more rock music. Therefore, you can conclude from this that friends are influenced by socialization; not that they actually love the music, and this could go for both males as well as females.
Furthermore, certain pop stars can influence types of fashion sense in young males, but more particularly females. For example, stars such as Britney Spears who dress in a provocative way can influence young teens into believing they should dress in a certain "slutty" way. To begin with, when you are around the ages of 12 years and 13, if you hear a pop star belting out lyrics to a song which is considering popular among your friendship group, you are almost brain washed into having to like them. Then if this idolization grows, it can develop into you aspiring to dress in a similar way. Another example would be stars such as "Marylin Manson," which dress in obviously a Gothic fashion sense, and as a result, their fan base would aspire to dress like him and too dress in the same way; especially if their friends are aspiring like them too.
Also, when you are younger, it's true that you are pressured by your peers into acting and dressing in a certain way, because if you don't then young teens have a fear of being socially rejected. This is perhaps the reasoning why teens tend to rebel around this age group of around 12-15 years, and then once you develop into higher education such as College or Sixth form, you develop into your own person more. But during this age, they may feel pressured into dressing the same way as their friends, otherwise they fear that they will never fit in that group and be an outcast.
Furthermore, to a certain extent these people are actually forming their own identity from copying the style of there idols. For example, at the beginning they are following the crowd of there friends and idols, yet at the same time they do look different from a lot of younger adolescents at there age; thus making them look more individual. Therefore, the judgement could be made that they are actively constructing their own identity and values, instead of being passive audiences. For example, if they were passive audiences, they would simply just listen to the music, not actually become active by dressing like them and taking on the same values. As a result, they are forming their own identity, which is better than just a teenage girl who listens to a song without taking any messages in.
